The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB), on April 14, 2025, officially confirmed and approved the establishment of a union for part-time and sessional professors, instructors, counsellors and librarians at all 24 Ontario public colleges.

Several Ontario colleges were recognized as top employers, regionally and nationally. Sixteen Ontario colleges and polytechnics were recognized as leaders in national applied research. Additional benefits services have been introduced for Ontario colleges.  As well, there are a few dates coming up in Ontario college bargaining that you should have on your radar.

Students, employees, and the greater College community deserve certainty without the possibility of labour action looming ahead, and it is for that reason that on January 23, 2025, the CEC has filed for conciliation with the part-time support staff bargaining team.
